Ausschreibung: SYLA Residency für Künstler*innen
Bewerbungsfrist: 20. Mai 2020
Das Lothringer13 FLORIDA schreibt dieses Jahr für die Monate Juni, Juli und August jeweils eine 4-wöchige Residenz aus.
Bewerben können sich Künstler*innen und Gruppen aus München und Umgebung[1]. Wir können keine dauerhafte Unterkunft garantieren, daher bitten wir nur um Bewerbungen, bei denen keine permanente Unterkunft nötig ist oder diese selbst organisiert werden kann.
Wir bitten die Bewerber*innen, kurz ihre aktuelle künstlerische Auseinandersetzung zu erläutern. Die Einreichung eines explizit für diesen Zeitraum entwickelten Projektes ist nicht notwendig.
Jede Resident*in kann FLORIDA in Absprache als Arbeitsraum nutzen, die Nutzung ist aber nicht verpflichtend. Das Budget der SYLA Residency beträgt 766 € insgesamt und wird als Honorar-Rechnung (inkl. MwSt.) abgerechnet. Kosten für die Anreise können nicht übernommen werden.
Wir freuen uns mit den Resident*innen ein öffentliches Format während oder zum Ende des jeweiligen Stipendiums zu entwickeln, dies ist aber nicht verpflichtend. Auch können zur Vermittlung unsere Social Media Kanäle bzw. unser Newsletter genutzt werden.
Die Bewerbungsfrist für die SYLA Residency ist der 20. Mai 2020. Die Vergabe der SYLA Residency findet durch ein Gremium statt, bestehend aus aus Rania Mleihi und Laura Lang sowie dem Komitee des FLORIDA (Maria VMier, Beowulf Tomek und Frauke Zabel). Zu- und Absagen werden so schnell wie möglich versendet.
Die SYLA Residency ist im Rahmen unseres Programms zu verstehen: Das Florida ist ein Kunstraum der Stadt München, der von einem wechselnden Komitee betrieben wird und gelegentlich das FLORIDA Magazin herausgibt. In Vorträgen, Gesprächen, Screenings, Lesungen, gemeinsamen Essen, Workshops und Ausstellungen gehen wir aus künstlerischer und kulturpolitischer Perspektive drängenden gesellschaftlichen Fragen nach. Dabei möchten wir herausfinden, welche Aufgabe ein Kunstraum heute übernehmen kann.

[1] Die Definition von Umgebung überlassen wir den Künstler*innen auf Basis der Bedingungen des Arbeitsstipendiums und der nicht getragenen Kosten für Anreise und nur bedingt gestellten Übernachtungsmöglichkeit.

Open call: SYLA Residency for artists
Application deadline: 20th of May 2020
This year the Lothringer13 FLORIDA announces a 4-week working residency for the months of June, July and August.
Artists and groups from Munich and the surrounding area[1] can apply. As we cannot guarantee permanent accommodation, we only ask for applications where a permanent accommodation is not necessary or can be organised by the artists themselves.
We ask the applicants to briefly explain their current artistic approach. It is not necessary to submit a project explicitly developed for this period.
Every resident can use FLORIDA as a workspace by arrangement, but the use is not obligatory. The budget of the SYLA Residency is 766 € in total and will be billed as an artist fee (invoice incl. VAT). Travel costs cannot be covered.
We are looking forward to develop a public format with the residents during or at the end of the residency, but this is not obligatory. Of course you can also use our social media channels or newsletter for displaying your work.
The application deadline for the SYLA Residency is May 20, 2020. The SYLA Residents will be nominated by a committee consisting of Rania Mleihi and Laura Lang and the FLORIDA committee (Maria VMier, Beowulf Tomek and Frauke Zabel). Confirmations and negative replies will be sent out as soon as possible.
The SYLA Residency is to be understood as part of our program: The Florida is a collaborative art space run by a rotating committee that occasionally publishesthe FLORIDA Magazine. In lectures, talks, screenings, readings, joint dinners, workshops and exhibitions we explore urgent social issues from an artistic and cultural-political perspective. In doing so, we also would like to find out which role an art space can inhabit today.
